Beximco Pharma Acquires Sanofi Aventis

Recently Beximco Pharma acquires Sanofi Aventis which has been confirmed by London Stock Exchange.

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, a listed pharmaceutical and chemical company bought for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh branch of Sanofi-Aventis, a transnational pharma. Beximco company Sanofi has been hand-picked because the highest bidder within the auction. This data was disclosed by the London securities market.

Sanofi-Aventis has already confirmed to the London securities market that it’s oversubscribed its People’s Republic of Bangladesh operation. Sanofi is listed on multiple stock exchanges round the world, as well as London.


It is known that Sanofi-Aventis is a French based company. It is the 5th largest pharmaceutical company in the world. The government has also owned the company, which has been doing business in Bangladesh since before independence. Sanofi-Aventis owns 19.83 million shares of the joint venture company, or 55.6 percent. The remaining 45 percent shares are owned by the Bangladesh government.


The shares held by Sanofi are being sold to Beximco Pharmaceuticals.
