If you have Windows 7 or 8 installed in your laptop/computer, you can easily install free Microsoft’s Fresh Windows 10 Operating System. If you choose the following method to install Windows 10, you can do that easily and get a new looks on your computer.
Today I will show you how to change your existing OS Windows 7/ Windows 8 and get a fresh installation of Windows 10 into your computer/laptop. This is also possible to install fresh Windows 10 if you have not installed any version of windows before.
Important information: Before install fresh windows 10, make sure to back up all of your important information. Otherwise, you may loss your data and information.
If your computer still runs Windows 7 / 8, you may avoid to upgrade using Windows Update option to upgrade your OS to Windows 10. In this case, I prefer to use a USB Flash drive as it works with all laptops/computers. For this you need a falsh USB drive which is 3GB or larger.
Upgrade Windows 7/8 with Windows 10:
Steps to Install Fresh Windows 10:
Step 1: At first, download the media creation tool from Microsoft, there are two versions – 32-bit and 64-bit. If you are not sure whether your computer is running 32 bit or 64-bit Windows, here’s is tutorial how you can find out — or you can download both if you want. But, you can install Windows 10 on one option either 32 or 64 bit.
Step 2: Then, run the downloaded tool, and, then, choose Create installation media for another PC , after that, click Next.
Step 3: In this step, select the Language, Edition and Architecture for Windows 10, then, click on Next.
It is also noted that Windows 10 Home is for computers currently running Windows 7 Home or Windows 8. If you decide to upgrade the Home version of previous Windows to Windows 10 Pro, you’ll have to pay for the license.
If you select to make the installation media for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10, you need a thumb drive that has at least 6GB of storage space.
Step 4: Then, Choose USB Flash drive as the media to use.
Step 5: Next, Insert the flash drive into the computer’s USB port and click on Next. After the drive is selected the tool will start downloading Windows 10. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, the download can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. Once the download is done, the tool will turn the flash drive into Windows 10 installation media. You then can use this flash drive to upgrade or install Windows on any computer.
Step 6: Insert the installation media flash drive into a computer running Windows 7 or 8 that you want to upgrade. Open the drive in Explorer and double click on the Setup file. The upgrading process will start.
Step 7: After a short preparation, including checking for updates from the Internet and asking you to agree to terms and conditions, you will be greeted with the Ready to Install dialog, click on Change what to keep.
Step 8: In the next step, you can choose to keep Nothing (so that you’ll have a truly fresh Windows 10 install), Keep personal files only (your documents, music, photos, etc., will remain intact) or Keep personal files, apps or Windows settings. After that click Next.
Follow the rest of the installation and once it’s done, you will have yourself a fresh installation of Windows 10 on your machine.
Also note that installing Windows 10 fresh on a computer by booting from the installation media will require you to buy a new Windows 10 license. If you already have a Windows 7 or 8 license and want to take advantage of the free upgrade offer, it’s a better idea to install your licensed version of Windows on the new computer first and then do an upgrade as shown above.
